Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 2026
1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are read by the server on subsequent visits. We also use similar technologies — such as localStorage and sessionStorage — to remember preferences within your browser. This policy covers all of these.
2. Why We Use Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep Pulse Network running correctly, remember your preferences (such as your cookie-consent choice and age-gate completion), and understand in aggregate how visitors use our games. We do not use cookies to build individual advertising profiles without your consent.
3. Categories of Cookies We Use
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary | Keep the site running — session handling, security, age-gate, consent record. No consent required. | __age_ok, __cc_v1 | Session – 12 months |
| Performance / Analytics | Anonymous traffic measurement — page views, game session counts, browser/device type. Used via Cloudflare Web Analytics. | __cf_bm, Cloudflare analytics | Up to 30 days |
| Functional | Remembers UI preferences — volume settings, mascot animation choice, previously accepted age gate. | localStorage keys | Up to 12 months |
| Advertising / Targeting | The site may include third-party advertising cookies (Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising) when a visitor arrives via a paid campaign. These are set only with your consent. | Google Ads (privacy policy), Microsoft Advertising (privacy statement) | Up to 13 months |
4. Lawful Basis (UK GDPR + PECR)
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), strictly necessary cookies may be set on the basis of legitimate interest — they are required for the service to function and you cannot opt out of them without leaving the site. All other categories (performance, functional, advertising) are set only on the basis of your freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
5. How to Manage Your Cookies on Pulse Network
When you first visit Pulse Network, a cookie banner gives you the option to "Accept all" or "Essential only". Your choice is stored in localStorage.__cc_v1. To change your preference at any time, clear that key using your browser's developer tools (Application → Local Storage → delete __cc_v1), then reload the page to see the banner again.
6. How to Manage Cookies in Your Browser
You can also control or delete cookies directly in your browser. Instructions for the most common browsers:
- Google Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox
- Apple Safari (macOS)
- Apple Safari (iOS)
- Microsoft Edge
- Brave Browser
- Opera
Note: blocking all cookies may prevent some parts of the site from functioning correctly.
7. Third-Party Cookies and Services
The following third parties may place cookies on your device when you give consent:
- Cloudflare — provides our hosting infrastructure, DDoS protection, and Web Analytics. Cloudflare sets
__cf_bmand similar security cookies. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. - Google — if you arrive via a Google Ads campaign, Google may set advertising cookies on our domain (with your consent). See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Microsoft — if you arrive via a Microsoft Advertising campaign, Microsoft may set advertising cookies on our domain (with your consent). See Microsoft's Privacy Statement.
8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We respect the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a withdrawal of consent for analytics and advertising cookies — only strictly necessary cookies will be set. We do not currently alter behaviour based on the older Do Not Track (DNT) header, as it lacks a standardised meaning across browsers.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
